Letterpress Workshop Gift Voucher - Introduction to Letterpress
A great gift for anyone with an interest in letterpress, typograhpy, graphic design and the printed word.
This is a gift voucher that can be redeemed on any future dated letterpress workshop run by Print & Ephemera. Workshop sessions take place in our studio located in Bristol, and dates are listed throughout the year.
Throughout the year we offer short, intensive workshops to introduce the core concepts of letterpress printing. Starting with the basics of relief printing, inks, paper stocks and the history of letterpress, we then work with you on a small project that involves several aspects of typesetting and layout design.
Once the compositions are complete, we go on to demonstrate and explain how to use one of our Adana 8×5 or 5×3 tabletop platen presses, which you will then use to produce a small run of printed ephemera to take away at the end of the session.
Our workshops are aimed primarily at people with an interest in letterpress but not necessarily much (or any) prior experience in print or graphic design. We want to provide you with a taster and introduction to the techniques and processes involved in letterpress printing and the kind of effects that can be achieved.
All materials are provided, the only things you need to bring are; enthusiasm, an eye for detail, and plenty of gusto!
For a list of our upcoming workshop sessions and to book a place online, check the WORKSHOPS section of the website.
