PRINT PRESS & ROLL
As a member of the Bristol Print Collective, I’ve been lucky enough to work with a group of fabulious fellow printmakers focusing on celebrating and promoting all things PRINT in Bristol and the South West. After several years of running our Print Socials and three Bristol Print Fairs, we finally felt brave enough to have a go at setting up our first exhibition. Based at the Centrespace Gallery right in the heart of Bristol, we invited and exceptional group of over 30 printmakers to showcase and sell their work. Covering all forms of printmaking, from letterpress to screenprint to etching to engraving, there was an outstanding collection of work. We also ran a host of workshops, demos and talks throughout the week the show was running.
Once the dust settled and the gallery keys were handed back, we’d had over 2400 people through our doors and plenty of sales for everyone involved, including at least 20 of hte framed pieces straight off the walls! I'm chuffed, honoured and proud of the rest of the Bristol Print Collective gang and what we achieved with our first proper show.
Roll on to the next one!
We've got all kinds of exciting plans for the year ahead so keep your eyes peeled for more BPC shenanigans.
